On December 20th, Page Plus added a new plan.  It is $12 / month and includes 250 minutes talk, 250 texts, and 10 MB of data.  $12 / month !!  They have also lowered the price of the original unlimited plan (with 20 MB data) from $44.95 / month to $39.95 / month (on December 7th.)

On October 25th, Page Plus added a new plan called "The 55."  It includes unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 300 NOW 1 GB of data.  The current plan (which is available) includes unlimited talk and text, and 100 MB of data for $44.95 NOW $39.95.   Click for details.  More plan choices are coming soon !!

Motorola Droid X

This is one of the phones I've used (on Page Plus), and it's by far the best phone I've ever used.  I pay $29.95 / month, and get 1200 minutes, 3000 texts, and 100 MB of data.  Here are some of it's features:

This high-end Android smartphone sports a huge touch display, 8-megapixel camera with HD video capture, HD output to TV, and 24 GB of memory out of the box. Other features include FM radio, thin body, GPS navigation with full turn-by-turn directions, EVDO.

I bought this camera about a year ago, and I haven't been disappointed.  I bought it mainly to take pictures at my son's baseball and football games, birthday parties, Christmas, etc.  It also takes HD movies.  Where it excels is it's 30X optical zoom.  I've taken tons of pictures from beyond the outfield fence of him batting.  It also has several different burst modes, shooting scenes, and it's 14 MP.  I paid about $265 a year ago.  Looks like now, it's around $295 with tax at WalMart.  Great camera !!

WalMart checks (off topic)

Did you know you could get your check reorders printed at WalMart?  The last time I tried to order a box of duplicate checks from my credit union via Harland Checks website, it was going to be around $34 with tax and shipping.  I did a little digging around, and Walmart has a site called Walmartchecks.com.  I got a box (a little plainer looking mind you) for less than $13 including shipping and tax.

My son's DVD player died a few months ago (stupid Philips... don't take the 1 year warranty as the gospel).  So I decided to replace it with one of these.  I have a lot of movies in .avi format anyway.  With this, you just pop in a thumb drive loaded with movies (Supports RM, RMVB, AVI, MPEG1(VCD), MPEG2(DVD) and MP4 video formats) or pictures (Supports JPEG, M-JPEG, BMP, TIFF and PNG photo formats), and connect it to your TV.  It gets really good reviews, and for the price (around $33 on Amazon, Newegg, etc.) you can't go wrong.

If you already have high speed internet, the Ooma Telo should be a no-brainer.  This is what I use for my home phone service.  It does cost a bit up front (regular price is $249, but is on sale for $199 from time to time), but pays for itself in less than a year (8 months in my case).  Your only monthly bill is (can vary slightly from state to state) a small tax and a 911 fee.  Mine (South Carolina) comes to $3.44 / month.  The sound quality is excellent - much better than standard VOIP phones such as Vonage, Time Warner Cable, or Voice Pulse (which I used for about 4 years).  They can be found at Best Buy, Amazon, or Ooma.com.

 

If you're still on Verizon (or AT&T) you're probably paying WAY too much for your cell phone service.  I switched to Page Plus (the Talk N Text 1200 plan) and pay $29.95 / month for 1200 minutes of (Nationwide) talk, 3000 texts, and 100 MB of data. 

Page Plus also offers an Unlimited plan for $39.95 / month (unlimited talk and text, 100 MB of data), and "The 55" which is unlimited talk and text, 1 GB of data for $55 / month.
